The brief – bring to life the stories of the people of Dunedin, from the first settlers to the new thinkers of today.

We took the challenge of bringing a regional museum with great staff and knowledge to a place where local and international visitors can come together to celebrate cultural diversity, design and technology through time.
As a team, we developed ways to keep a depth of stories, while allowing the objects and the space to shine. Simple display systems, including large cases and sculptural elements, sit against a backdrop of exquisite building features that showcase periods of architecture, providing a magic that is hard to find.
We set in place systems and processes for the design and development of future projects, which has enabled museum staff to continue to integrate updates and exhibit changes seamlessly into the experience. As a result, this regional social history museum was revitalised with a new design aesthetic and visitor experience to tell the stories of the people of Dunedin into the future.
