The brief – design a theatrical, exploratory exhibition that brings visitors face-to-face with New Zealand’s incredible underwater life.
We provided – spatial design | specialist production & installation
This project, which was two years in the making, was developed in partnership with top marine experts and delivered through the use of new technologies and creative thinking.
We designed and created defined environments for larger than life digital experiences, life-sized models, and microscopic exploratory zones that, together with the museum’s collections, told stories of what is happening in the world under the water.
The design was brought to life through the use of unexpected materials, like the pool noodle theatre, projection onto floors and translucent surfaces, and a carefully designed and realised lighting system.
